Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC)is a high-quality carbon material produced by calcining (heat-treating) green petroleum coke at temperatures between 1200°C and 1500°C in a rotary kiln. This high-temperature calcination process removes residual hydrocarbons and moisture, significantly enhancing the carbon structure's density, electrical conductivity, and thermal stability.

Major Industrial Applications
Graphite Electrode Manufacturing
This is the primary market for high-purity CPC. It serves as the fundamental raw material for producing Regular Power (RP), High Power (HP), and Ultra-High Power (UHP) graphite electrodes. These electrodes are critical for melting scrap steel in Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) and Ladle Furnaces (LF).
Aluminum Smelting (Prebaked Anodes)
Approximately 70-80% of CPC produced is used by the aluminum industry. It is the main aggregate in the production of anodes for the Hall-Héroult electrolytic process, where its electrical conductivity and oxidation resistance are vital.
Foundry & Steelmaking (Carbon Raiser / Recarburizer)
CPC is widely used as a high-quality recarburizer or carbon additive in iron and steel foundries. It helps precisely adjust the carbon content of molten metal, improving casting microstructure and mechanical properties while reducing production costs.
Titanium Dioxide Production
A significant portion (around 15%) of CPC is used in the chloride process for manufacturing titanium dioxide (TiO₂), where it acts as a high-temperature reducing agent.
Other Industrial Uses
It is also used in producing brake pads, graphite blocks, carbon bricks for blast furnaces, and various refractory materials.
